After five enjoyable and successful years at our current location, we are delighted to announce that Romans Recruitment Group will be relocating to our new offices at Wickham Hall, Bishop's Stortford. This exciting move marks the beginning of a new chapter for our business, providing us with a fantastic working environment and a more central base within the local area.
Set within the beautiful grounds of the historic Wickham Hall Estate, our new home combines modern office facilities with a rich heritage. The estate's history can be traced back to the Domesday Book of 1086, making it a truly unique and characterful setting. Surrounded by picturesque countryside yet conveniently located close to Bishop's Stortford, Wickham Hall offers the perfect balance of accessibility, history, and charm.

A Brief Look at the Estate's History
While the estate is well documented from medieval times, the land's heritage reaches much further back. Archaeological excavations revealed Roman settlements from the 3rd and 4th centuries beneath the grounds, along with ditch systems dating to the Bronze and Iron Ages.
By the late 17th century, the land became part of the Capel family estate, with historic farm buildings crafted from salvaged timbers from the demolished Banqueting Hall at nearby Hadham Hall. Throughout the 20th century, the Harvey family farmed the grounds and hosted the area's Point-to-Point horse races, even breeding and training Little Polveir, the winner of the 1989 Grand National.
Our building, New Mead Barn, was purposely constructed to complement the original 17th-century Grade II listed thatched barns across the courtyard, preserving the estate's rural character while offering purpose-built, modern workspace.
